Corey Maclin Filed
Signed Petition Wednesday to be the
Democrat Candidate for Shelby County Clerk
Lifelong Shelby County resident & businessman Corey Maclin
filed a signed petition at the Shelby County Election
Commission on Washington Avenue on Wednesday, February 17,
at 12 noon to run as a Democratic Candidate for the office
of Shelby County Clerk.
Corey Maclin has been a successful, established figure in
Shelby County business and public service circles for many
years, but never aspired to political ambitions until
recently.
“As a lifelong businessman I was shocked at the never-ending
corruption, bribery, and overall poor management at the
Shelby County Clerk’s office”, said Maclin. “I know how
important that position is. I love Shelby County and I know
we can do better. So instead of just talking about it; I
decided to do something about it. And believe me, I can and
I will.”
Maclin brings an abundance of experience with him. Working
since he was 14, he has achieved an impressive array of
business accomplishments. His most popular role has been
with Memphis Wrestling, beginning as an announcer
with Dave Brown in 1989. Just eight years later he assumed
full ownership and management of the company. He also owns a
full-service advertising agency, Corey Maclin & Associates.
He and his wife Carmela have been married for 20 years and
together are raising their six children. Maclin’s strong
work ethics are intertwined with a faith just as strong, and
the Maclin family regularly attends the Oak Spring Baptist
Church in Arlington, Tennessee.
